We would like to congratulate Meli ZukaCrisp, from Kroger 361, on being awarded her US Citizenship! Meli has been working toward this moment since she arrived from Kosovo in 2013 after being relocated with her greencard. Because she moved around so much with her now husband it was a difficult process obtaining her citizenship due to different states paperwork filing and wait periods. However, thanks to her union membership the final step was quick and easy. She took the UFCW Local 227 up on it’s annual citizenship seminar that offers assistance in filling out the required paperwork and providing a specialized lawyer to verify everything necessary to finish the process.
Meli wanted to thank everyone involved in helping her with the workshop and wished that they could have seen her receive her certificate. Because of COVID restrictions the ceremony was drastically downsized. We are proud of your accomplishment Meli and wanted to give your fellow union family members a chance to congratulate you as well.
