The park is encouraging attendees to buy tickets online ahead of visiting, and admission will be touch-free. Admission totals will be tracked electronically, allowing management to keep an eye on and enforce capacity limits.
Will masks have to be worn?
As with other directives that Governor Beshear has given Kentucky Kingdom states masks will be encouraged. Masks will not be provided but will be available for purchase at the park. Employees of Kentucky Kingdom will be required to wear a mask while working as part of their uniform.
What requirements will guest have to meet to enter Kentucky Kingdom?
Kentucky Kingdom guests will have to pass a touchless temperature check before entering the park and will not be allowed to go inside if they record a temperature of 100.4 or higher. While not required, masks are encouraged. Guests are also asked to follow social distancing guidelines (signs will be placed around the park as a reminder) and will be encouraged to do so by park employees.
How will social distancing be enforced?
Markers will be placed along ride lines every six feet as an indication of where guests waiting should stand. Seats on rides will be spread out, and unavailable seats will be blocked. Rules will be enforced on rides, and other park employees will issue reminders to guests in other areas of Kentucky Kingdom if they're seen not following the guidelines.
What services will be open?
Contact between park employees and attendees will be limited as well. Barriers are being put up around the park to decrease contact between guests and workers at cash registers and other areas, and self-serve credit card registers are also being installed around Kentucky Kingdom. Self-serve food options will not be available, and indoor restaurants will be closed.
How often will Kentucky Kingdom be cleaned?
The whole park will undergo a deep cleaning daily, according to Kentucky Kingdom's reopening guide. Restrooms and other areas that come into contact with a high number of people throughout the day will be cleaned more often. Hand sanitizing stations will be installed throughout the park for use by employees and customers
How will the Hurricane Bay water park be impacted?
The rules at Hurricane Bay mimic those at Kentucky Kingdom's main park. Ground markers will be placed every six feet on rides, guests are asked to follow social distancing guidelines in other areas, and rides that would require separate parties to be grouped will be closed. The park's 200 lifeguards will monitor and enforce social distancing, and all pools have specific entry points that will allow them to control how many people can be in the water at a particular time.
