#MemberMonday Mike Hutchens

Mike "Dr. Octave" Hutchens, a member at Kroger 292 is a veteran musician and has been performing live for over 45 years. His experience in Louisville goes back to the the Main Street Night Clubs in the 70's and 80's like Eddie D's, Phoenix Hill, Zena's and Soundstage. In addition to live performance, Mike enjoys composing and arranging music of all styles and genres. He his proficient on several instruments including percussion, keyboards, guitar and bass guitar, in addition to both lead and background vocals. Playing in several bands over the years including his own, Big Bambu, Mike has performed at Disney World and many other popular tourist attractions such as The Cheyenne Saloon and Rosie O'Grady's in Orlando. His aunt managed The World Famous Tootsie's Orchid Lounge in Nashville and Mike was fortunate enough to be exposed to the local Nashville music scene including the Herdfest music festival. Having the pleasure of performing for our veterans and their families at many VFW's and AmVet's around the area is something he is very proud of. He currently enjoys performing solo shows at retirement communities and festivals.
