Get your GED for free!
UFCW 227 members have a benefit that allows them to participate in a free GED test prep program. Thanks to Kentucky’s new Governor Andy Beshear when you’re ready to take the test that is free too! On January 7th Kentucky’s Governor Andy Beshear announced that Kentucky will now offer the GED test for free, removing the $120 cost usually connected to the test.
This announcement makes it even more accessible for UFCW members who, for several years, have had access to free GED test prep. Our union member GED program offers a learning plan that works for you, so that you’ll be able to successfully prepare yourself to pass the GED test, regardless of when you last went to school.
This program also allows you to study at your own pace – all classes are self-guided and can be completed from your phone or tablet.
If you are interested in using this benefit, visit ufcw.org/members/ged/ and fill out the form. It may take a few days to verify your UFCW membership. However, once confirmed, you’ll receive an email that explains how to login and begin taking free online GED classes.
