Grocery Workers: Child Care Resources Guide

Governor Beshear has announced that childcare services being provided to first responders are now available to grocery workers. So what does that mean?  It means that the child care facilities that have only been available to health care workers and other first responders are now open to our grocery store members, who are providing these necessary services to the community.  We have been working to gather resources for you on who to contact in your area that is currently open and has available spots for your childcare needs.

Each center is accepting different ages of children, has different hours and are charging different (but deeply discounted) fees. We have compiled as much of that information for you in the link below.

Grocery Workers may be required to submit verification of employment that includes the following:

Documentation should be noted on the company’s letterhead and include:

·        Identifying information for the employee

·        Employee’s position within the grocery industry

·        Location(s) of place of employment

·        Name of children who will be enrolled and dates of birth

·        Contact information of Human Resources personnel to verify employment if necessary

• Verification forms may be requested by authorities and/or contact may be made to identified Human Resource personnel to verify the authenticity of the individual’s employment.

• By utilizing these services, you agree to isolate when not working, use social distancing, and good hygiene. If you are placed in isolation or quarantine child(ren) may not attend for that time period
