Free Suicide Prevention Training from The University of Kentucky

Suicide is one of the leading causes of death in America. Our union family has been hit hard by the tragic loss of our members or their family members to suicide, especially in recent years.

The University of Kentucky Healthcare is offering QPR training for free to anyone in the state. QPR stands for Question, Persuade and Refer.

During the hour long training, that you can take on your own time, you will learn "how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis, how to respond to someone in crisis and where to refer someone in need of help." 

Knowing how to get help for yourself, a co-worker or a loved one will save lives. We encourage all of our union members to take this life saving training.
